In Shipston-on-Stour High Street you'll find Mrs Browns tearoom. I can recommend the tea (in cups with saucers if that is your bag) and especially the cakes. I sampled the Victoria Sponge but the lemon drizzle and sticky toffee cakes were apparently excellent too.
Luncheon is served to apparently. I know this because there was a list of puddings on a board. Rhubarb crumble can be served with ice cream, clotted cream or custard apparently. A mix of all three would suit me.
For a Friday afternoon in a small Cotswold town trade was surprisingly brisk too. Why can't all coffee shops be like this ? Possibly because then we'd all waddle rather than walk...
